Aster’s Lunch


Aster’s Ethiopian Restaurant, near the University of Texas campus, offers a ton of vegetarian choices, and they all seem to be things I love: lentils, spicy eggplant, cabbage, potatoes, collard greens, and spongy-sour injera bread.

Lucky for me, I happened into the restaurant for their lunch buffet, so I had a little bit of everything. My favorites were the lentils, both the spicy red ones and the earthy yellow ones. Combined with the sweet cabbage and sour bread, they make a satisfyingly spicy and comforting plate.
